reconnect with yourself
My mission as a therapist is to be relatable, understanding, honest, and collaborative to help you feel seen, supported, and more connected to yourself and what matters most to you.
Emadia Smith, LMFT
Hi, I’m Emadia. I am a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist offering virtual therapy throughout California. I specialize in supporting teens, women, and young adults as they navigate life’s challenges.
In addition to individual work, I’m also deeply committed to supporting relationships. Whether you’re dating or married, queer or straight, I work with couples to strengthen communication, deepen trust, and feel more connected in their relationship.
Everyone experiences life in their own unique way, and because of that, I take an integrative, personalized approach to therapy. I utilize a combination of evidence-based therapies, with a primary focus on EMDR to help process trauma and other overwhelming experiences in a way that feels safe and empowering. My goal is to create a non-judgmental space where you feel heard, respected, and supported. I’ll walk alongside you in this journey, always being mindful to follow your lead.
Just because you’ve learned to carry it well Doesn’t mean it’s not heavy.

EMDR is a type of therapy that helps you work through painful memories or experiences that still feel "stuck" in your body or mind. It uses gentle eye movements (or tapping) to help your brain reprocess those experiences so they feel less overwhelming and more manageable. It’s often used for trauma, anxiety, and other emotional challenges
EMDR helps your brain do what it naturally wants to do: heal. When we go through something hard, our brains can sometimes get stuck — EMDR uses eye movements or tapping to help “unstick” those memories and emotions, so they can be processed and resolved. It’s often used with trauma, but can help with anxiety, low self-worth, and other issues too.
